J. Austin McCubbin, Owner

J. Austin McCubbin was born in Denver, CO, to an Army family that settled in western Kentucky. He earned his bachelor's degree in International Security from Transylvania University, only to have his desire to go to the Army cut short by an injury.

When one door closes, another one opens. After graduation, he became the "body man" and Director of Advance to the Governor of Kentucky. After more than two years as the governor's traveling personal aide, Austin learned the sting of politics when his boss was defeated.

While pondering what to do next, he learned that civilians could work in Iraq, and echoes of his desire for military service connected him with a unique opportunity.

At the age of 25, Austin deployed to Iraq to manage the finance and administration for the $8m+ annual contract tasked with managing the Army's Combat Support Hospital (CSH) facility in the International Zone. HBO has a series, Baghdad E.R., about the great work the men and women at the Ibn Sina Hospital did in what has been a truly historic level of combat injury survival rates.

After spending almost all of 2008-2009 in Iraq and a grueling period of relocating the hospital facility to the edge of Bagdad, it was time to come home.

At this point, Austin decided to set out on his dream to be an entrepreneur.

His first venture in 2010 was as a full-time solo derivatives trader. His high aptitude for self-teaching technical subjects made the highly challenging arena of trading options contracts a natural fit. While trading for about a year, another business opportunity came along in the defense industry, and Austin closed out his trading operation to market a product towards the State Department. Just as the product was ready to go, sequestration hit D.C., and the opportunity instantly dried up.

Life is full of setbacks, but failure wasn't easy. It was either time to hang up his entrepreneurial spurs or innovate.

2012 - Founded Internet Marketing Company

While exploring what was next in his entrepreneurial life, he was exposed to the terrible service that attorneys and law firms received from the big brand names that mass-sell websites and "SEO." They priced too much for the very little that they provided, and they required the attorneys to then be the expert marketing team and do all the legwork of making their new sites.

Thus Austin started Horizons Web Marketing in order to provide better service, better value and better price to attorneys. Austin decided against a sales-driven model for business growth, and for five years his business expanded by referrals from satisfied customers and friends who knew his capabilities.

In 2017, Austin developed the Intrepid.Marketing brand focused exclusively on offering premium law firm marketing for law practices around the U.S.

Growing Intrepid.Marketing is Austin's focus. He is highly dedicated to his clients and grateful for each and every one. He is actively engaged in each and every account and campaign. He doesn't farm out labor overseas. Most of the work has been done by his hand.

Our money-back guarantee is a reflection of his unflinching dedication to client success, and he personally provides each and every client the attention they deserve to make sure their SEO campaigns succeed.

Veterans Non-Profit

the lost brigade

In 2011, Austin joined up with two retired Army officers to develop a formal organization around their existing work for veterans. They founded The Lost Brigade, and they organized an annual marksmanship competition for wounded or service-disabled (PTSD/TBI) veterans.

Veterans flocked at the opportunity, and while they were off at the range, the wives were treated like royalty for the weekend, as well.

The Lost Brigade in essence created the opportunity for veterans to get together, make new friendships and create bonds that helped to heal the mental and physical wounds of war.

Austin is committed to ensuring Intrepid.Marketing provides free marketing service and financial contributions to ensure this valuable program is able to continue to be offered to our veterans.

Why? He can safely say these veterans kept him alive while he was overseas. Some of the wounded veterans were injured as a part of the troop surge that massively improved the safety of his sector of the International Zone.

It's a genuine way of saying thanks.
